Hello fellow artists and creatives,

I'm thrilled to announce a unique opportunity for you to take part in the Darkspace Ambush project!

Overview: Darkspace Ambush is a captivating sci-fi sliding block strategy game, and I'm on the lookout for a talented artist to help revamp its visuals and give it an even more polished and unique aesthetic.

$250 for 18 pieces comes out to $13.89 per piece. Assuming it takes someone 5 hours to work on each piece on average, that comes to $2.78 an hour. Unless you mean $250 per piece, which is more along the line of what artists are normally paid for game assets.

The use of AI already is also not a good sign.

Good luck.

I wish I could earn 4500$ in two weeks as envisioned in the numbers above. Unfortunately, such rates are far beyond my capabilities.

@RjainXIV @Foumart Well you just have to share absolutely all the income with the people you work with, if the game makes money! I encourage you to find a collaborator, not someone you just pay before, it will make everything easier !

@DaShahRach00 Thanks for the advice! This game is hardly going to earn anything. It has no replay ability value and the tech is Flash AS2 running through Ruffle, which turns off pretty much any deals. I just want to complete it and add to the portfolio, and along the way I want to meet peers with whom I would like to work on this and future projects.
But I don't understand why I have to share game income when contracting artists for a job like this, can you elaborate please? I remember a decade ago games were earning money through adds on NG and it could be distributed to collaborators, do you refer to that?

@Foumart Owh I thought you were planning to make a paid version of the game later and it would make money !
Try to find a partner irl, it's much more convenient to work like that for a game, projects launched with people we barely know via the internet often end up being abandoned along the way. The most important thing is that there is a relationship of trust between everyone in the team.

Also I advise you not to use AI, even for a prototype or a simple game jam, it can be seen as a lack of respect by the artists, these AIs cause a lot of damage in the entertainment industry, pose a lot of moral problems, and people are being replaced because of it, I understand why you used it, and I don't blame you, you needed graphics and fast, and I don't suppose you didn't think of that more than that, but if you want to find an artist partner who respects you, try to show respect for the artists' work
And sorry for my bad english ^^'
